The hot tub, a Forēssence signature
Most Forēssence chalets include a private hot tub because it is the one feature that stretches a stay across all four seasons. In spring after a hike up Mont Gosford, in summer after a day of kayaking on the lake, on a crisp autumn evening, and in winter under the sky of the Mont-Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve, when the steam rises into the cold air.
Every hot tub in the selection is outdoors and reserved for the guests of the property. None is shared with a neighbouring chalet. For travellers who also want a dry sauna, Sēlēnē in Val-Racine is the only property that offers both.

Is the hot tub private or shared with other guests?
Every hot tub in the Forēssence selection is private and reserved exclusively for the guests of the property for the whole stay. No chalet shares its hot tub with a neighbouring property or another group. It is included in the booking, with no extra fee and no imposed time slot.
Is the hot tub available in winter?
Yes. The outdoor hot tubs in the selection are open in every season, winter included, and most properties keep them running through deep cold. Soaking under the sky of the Mont-Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve in below-zero temperatures is one of the most requested experiences of the winter season.
What is the difference between a hot tub and a sauna?
A hot tub is a continuously heated whirlpool bath that several people share in warm water. A dry sauna is a high-temperature dry heat cabin, a distinct Nordic experience. In the Forēssence selection every chalet has an outdoor hot tub; Sēlēnē, in Val-Racine, is the only one that also offers a private dry sauna.
Does the chalet also include lake access?
Several chalets combine a hot tub with direct lake access. L'Évasion and Le Grand Duc have a beach or a dock. Le Madison and La Maison de Cèdre give access to the shore from the grounds. Le Bōrivage has a private beach on Lac Mégantic. See the waterfront chalets page for the full property-by-property comparison.
