With its superb patio, its outdoor fireplace offering a view of the blue mountains, and its rustic summertime kitchen, this space will surely charm you when you return from an activity-filled day. What’s more: its interior is welcoming, simple and comfortable.

You’ll be able to keep boredom at bay in this lively and natural environment. Hikes, cycling, canoeing, swimming and trout-fishing in pure water lakes are all possible thanks to the hosts carefully protecting the quality of the domain’s air and water, and respecting nature for future generations. This cottage is also located in the middle of the forest near Mont Mégantic and Mont Gosford, rambling enthusiasts will be delighted. KM of hiking trails, mountain biking, near federated ATV and snowmobile trails.

At night, especially during the month of August, don’t forget to look up to the sky. At the heart of the first International dark sky reserve, you may very well see shooting stars, or at least, a most impressive starlit sky.

Useful information

In winter, depending on weather conditions, a 4-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended to reach the chalet.

Please note: the driveway entrance is steep. We recommend not attempting to drive up it to avoid getting stuck. Parking is available at the bottom of the entrance for you to park safely.

Chalet Laō is steps from several lakes in the Domaine des Appalaches for canoeing, swimming, fishing and more. 12 minutes from Parc National du Mont-Mégantic. 15–20 minutes from the village of Piopolis (municipal beach, restaurants, theatre). 30 minutes from downtown Lac-Mégantic.

In winter you can easily enjoy skating on the Domaine des Appalaches lake; snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skating and snowmobiling on Lac Mégantic; dog-sled or horse-drawn carriage rides; and stargazing at the Astrolab of Mont Mégantic.

And more: Camping Aventure (water slides and winter slides), Complexe Baie-des-Sables, Montagne du Morne (over 20 km of hiking trails), ZEC du Mont-Gosford, Sugarloaf ski resort (75 km).

Please book for the exact number of guests. The base rate includes 2 people. A fee of $25 per additional person, per night, applies beyond that number. Applicable additional fees and taxes also apply to these amounts.

Any change to the number of guests must be declared before arrival. If the platform does not automatically adjust additional fees after confirmation, an adjustment will be made by the host according to this pricing.
